Das Jahr der Zahlen

Es ist doch noch wahr geworden.

Das Fachmagazin „Velototal Business“ berichtet über den Norseman Xtreme Triathlon 2013 und wird einen leibhaftigen Teilnehmer im August auf die Strecke schicken. Dieser Teilnehmer werde ich sein. Das Hoffen hat ein Ende, die Wirklichkeit beginnt in all ihrer Größe.

Eigentlich konnte es, allen Absagen zum Trotz, gar nicht anders kommen, ist 2013 doch das Jahr der großen Zahlen:
50. Geburtstag 20 Tage nach dem Rennen
25 Jahre verheiratet 4 Tage vor dem Rennen
10. Langdistanztriathlon
3. Start beim Norseman
1 letzter Versuch, auf den Gaustatoppen zu kommen

Diese Konstellation lässt kaum Alternativen…
Aber:
Ich habe in der Vergangenheit dem Ereignis wohl zu wenig Respekt gezollt, zu laut getönt im Vorfeld. Dieses Jahr werde ich versuchen, ein wenig mehr Demut zu zeigen und auf martialisches D-Day-minus-X-Getöse verzichten. Der Große Gausta liebt keine Aufschneider.

Als nächstes wird der Innere Soundtrack ergänzt und überarbeitet. Eine Neuerung, die mir besonders am Herzen liegt ist die Erstellung einer norwegischen Version dieses Blogs. Wir werden sehen, was das Jahr bringt. Jetzt ist es erst einmal Zeit, wieder auf die Straße zu gehen. Radfahren.


So it has become true.

“Velototal Business” magazine will report about on Norseman Xtreme Triathlon and they will send a real participant to the course. And I will be the chosen one. Hoping has come to an end, time to face reality in all its might.

Despite failure in getting a lottery-slot, things were extremely unlikely to go different as they do now. 2013 definitely is the Year Of Numbers:

50th birthday 20 days after Norseman
25th wedding anniversary 4 days before the race
10th iron-distance triathlon
3rd participation in Norseman
1 last effort to reach Gaustatoppen

This constellation leaves no choice…
Nevertheless:
I am afraid I did not show enough respect towards the event, may have been bragging too much beforehand. This year I will try to stay humble and to do without all this D-Day-minus-something-fuzz. Mighty Mr. Gausta is not specificly fond of braggers.

Next to come is a new edition of The Inner Soundtrack. Another improvement, that means much to me, is a Norwegian version of this blog. We will have to see what the year has got for us. Now it is time to go out on the streets again. Cycling.
